AI Headwinds…

There is a budding Artificial Intelligence Bubble, it is not here yet and it’s not about anything that people are saying. It is simply because the term is only half valid. The first word artificial is spot on. The second word, Intelligence is a stretch. There is no intelligence, what you are looking at is massive data manipulation that can do lots of things, but in no way is it smart.

People and corporations are going to spend and waste an enormous amount of money trying to do things that won’t help their lives or bottom line. The quest to go beyond the simple task of organizing things and try to search for things that have no answer will totally consume all of us.

I speak with some experience and humility as the WSJ in 1985 did a story on the early Machine Learning AI work in which I was involved. We learned a lot about the headwinds that computer calculations face versus human intelligence.
