Cost of no Reform….What is the Goal

Why does the stock market rally when it thinks reforms of Health Care and Financial Markets are dead?   

From my perspective it may help to look at what I believe the goals are: 1) We need to reform health care so our country can have healthy productive workers who can start producing something again; 2) We need to return the financial markets to a function of financing growth rather than speculation.  If the reforms were truly successful I would not need to write this blog every day and you would not need to read it, maybe check in once a month.

Sometimes it is good to vent rather than make a portfolio change.   The Reuters article late Friday and some health care developments over the weekend make me feel a little better on the overall direction in Washington today .  This is a big week where change can evolve.  See the article on Volcker here:
